Work Experience

Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre and Lido

Easter 2017 - Present

I am currently employed by Wychavon Leisure as a Lifeguard and Recreational Assistant at Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre and Lido. The leisure centre is utilised by a wide variety of people including voluntary and community groups.  As a lifeguard I am required to maintain a high level of concentration and observation for extended periods of time. It is critical that I am able to work as a team member, often under pressure, with good communication skills. Difficult situations require me to utilise my interpersonal skills, first aid and resuscitation knowledge alongside providing positive engagement with the public. As a recreational assistant I am also required to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene and ensure the facilities are kept safe for customer use.

New Road Doctors Surgery

March 2016

I was fortunate to obtain a work experience placement at New Road Doctors Surgery in Bromsgrove, I had five days of experience, during which I shadowed reception staff, spoke with actively working GP’s and sat in on many health clinics.

Other Experience

Computing Experience

September 2015 - Present

For my A level coursework project, I created a full stack web application, it’s function was to manage the housing system for RGS Worcester. It required me to utilise software skills including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and frameworks/libraries that allowed me to increase the speed of development whilst also improving the quality of the software. I am currently completing multiple Udemy courses these are; Java Programming Masterclass for Software Developers and The Web Developer Bootcamp.

I have also assisted the Computer Science department with presenting courses to prospective parents, this involved me demonstrating some examples of work that I completed during the course. I showed the capabilities of Audino boards and how they are utilised to develop software skills, this somewhat tied into my free time in which I have used video games with API’s to create/modify features of the game, increasing my knowledge and skills.

Droitwich Lifesaving Club

September 2010 - July 2019

As a participant I gained my Bronze/Silver Survive and Save awards, and as a volunteer my Rookie Lifeguard Instructor award. I was also presented with a certificate of merit by the Royal Lifesaving Society for my contribution towards lifesaving and club activity.
